Provide WITSML ServicesWellstorm's WITSML Service Platform (WSP) connects your applications to real time well data streams anywhere on the planet, and streams information to your select partners.
WSP's architecture lets partners store and retrieve WITSML data using its fully compliant standard WITSML interfaces. Yet WSP offers more capability for your own applications. With WSP your applications can trigger events based on complex criteria, and you can query using an XPath based query language. WSP runs in industry standard Java/J2EE containers and communicates easily with .Net, Java and other web service enabled programs. Aggregate Data on the RigService companies and the drilling contractor increasingly can supply data in WITSML format. Suppliers of data have lowest common denominator needs for data aggregation. The WITSML standard is the perfect way to accumulate this data. Some suppliers still supply data in older WITS or proprietary format. Wellstorm has assisted companies in constructing adapters to transform such data streams to WITSML. These adapters can leverage the extended capabilities of WSP to transfer data more efficiently and faithfully than using the WITSML API. For example, with WSP your data sources can update several objects within a single transaction -- a capability not available using the WITSML API. Client applications on the rig can connect to the WSP aggregator too. An engineer, company man, or toolpusher can connect a custom application or just browse the repository using WSP's web interface. WSP's security model permits just the right level of access for each user. On the rig, WSP can act as your aggregation WITSML Server. And if there are other WITSML data sources on the rig, WSP can subscribe to their data using the WITSML Publish interface.
Data Hub in the Operations CenterConnected to aggregators on rigs, WSP in your operations center acts as the repository for the duration of a project. WSP's architecture permits it to manage several independent repositories, each having its own access controls. You can safely expose data to people and services inside and outside your organization on a "need to know" basis. Your own monitoring, optimization, and analysis tools can manipulate the data in a WSP repository using extended interfaces. A real time logging display could use the WITSML Store and Publish interfaces to obtain simple updates. But WSP offers extended capabilities for querying and subscribing. You can define more complex conditions for events. For example, you can request a notification when a measurement exceeds a limit, but only when bit depth is greater than 2000 m. How it WorksWSP was built from the ground up to support your applications. Learn how it works. |
