Seasoned E&P Software ProfessionalsHugh Winkler founded Wellstorm in 2004 to address information problems in upstream oil and gas by leveraging emerging web technologies. Trained as a geophysicist, Hugh coauthored both the seismic interpretation package that became Landmark Geographix SeisVision and the Parallel Geoscience Seismic Processing Workshop. He has developed geophysical software at Landmark Graphics, Parallel Geoscience and Bison Instruments. He has also held architecture positions at BetweenMarkets, Inc, developers of B2B XML document exchange software, and web conferencing provider MShow.com. Hugh began professional life as a wireline Field Engineer for Schlumberger Offshore Services. Mr. Winkler holds a B.S. in Applied Physics from Georgia Tech, and an M.A. in Geophysics from The University of Texas at Austin. David Archer joined Wellstorm as President in November 2008. His career of over 30 years has centered on technical computing for the energy business where he has been at the vanguard of several innovative technologies. Among these are real time predictive modeling and the use of web-based technologies for information management and exchange. He has developed, designed and/or managed the development of systems for pipeline simulation, well test analysis, nodal analysis, reservoir simulation workstations and seismic interpretation. Prior to joining Wellstorm, Dr. Archer was Vice President of Petris, President/CEO of POSC (now Energistics), Vice President at INT, Director of Exploration Software at Western Atlas Software (now Landmark) and Director of Technology at DREM (now Advantica). David received a Mathematics degree from TCU followed by MA and PHD degrees in Mathematical Sciences from Rice University. He began his career as a univeristy professor with academic appointments at the Naval Postgraduate School and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at the Univerity of Houston. Dr. Archer is a member of the Rice Engineering Alumni Board, and he is on the Board of Advisors of the College of Technology at the University of Houston. David is the recipient of the 2007 Management and Information Award from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). |
